    With Edge technology, large quantities of dirt, especially in difficult ceramic and glass applications, are reliably filtered down to a fineness of 2 µm - without the use of filter aids and in the smallest possible installation space. This is done fully automatically, with minimal noise and vibration, energy-efficiently and with low follow-up costs.

    The edge filter technology works as an edge-gap filter with an enormously large filter surface area in a very small installation space. Thousands of precisely positioned filter plates multiply the filter surface area and enable process-related filtration without the use of filter aids. This special filtration is particularly suitable for the most difficult fine particle applications in oil, such as ceramic, silicon carbide, ZERODUR®, glass and many other materials.

Properties

Edge filter technology is a fully automatic backwash filter system in which the pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical controls are located directly on the filter. It is equipped with the necessary valve technology in both the supply and return lines and works independently. The Edge filter technology is Industry 4.0-capable thanks to sensor-based monitoring, which monitors each filter individually.

With the help of a pump, the contaminated medium is fed into the filter dome from below, where the dirt settles on the filter element. The cleaned medium then enters the inside of the filter, where it is discharged and then collected in a clean tank.

The complete Edge system is equipped with an integrated electrical and pneumatic control system. If a filter element becomes dirty, the differential pressure sensor automatically detects this and initiates a backwashing process of the system. Backwashing is carried out using a patented pneumatic-hydraulic system.

The short compressed air pulse on a fluid reservoir effectively removes the dirt adhering to the filter element from the pores of the filter surface and discharges it as a concentrate. This reactivates almost 100 % of the filter surface.

Maintenance:
Edge technology offers reliable operational planning thanks to scheduled maintenance and early indication of upcoming maintenance intervals. The product impresses with its durability and high level of user-friendliness in terms of maintenance and service. This is reflected in extremely short filter element replacement times.
