    With the CargoBeamer system, traffic is intelligently shifted from the highway to the tracks. This creates an environmentally friendly alternative, protects the environment and protects the climate.

    Our innovative system enables time and resource-saving, fully automated loading of semi-trailers of various types onto special wagons. These are then transported via the rail network using trains. This relieves congestion on freeways worldwide and helps to save millions of tons of CO₂ every year in Europe alone.

    Our specially developed hydraulic shunting system makes it possible to unload the train in a time-effective manner by moving the wagons on the freight train down to the side. At the same time, the train is loaded from the other side with new wagons to be transported. This efficient handling method optimizes the entire process.

    LEHMANN-UMT is implementing this pioneering project in cooperation with CargoBeamer AG® and is acting both as patent holder and system supplier for the entire shunting unit. We have developed and manufactured the complete machine equipment for loading and unloading the wagons. By implementing such sustainable projects, we actively contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions. Properties

The shunting system is built into the floor of the CargoBeamer terminal. This is where the truck takes the semi-trailer and places it in a designated parking space. A terminal vehicle places the container on a wagon attachment next to the loading tracks.

With the help of the Lehmann-UMT shunting system, this wagon body with the semi-trailer inside is pushed onto the train as soon as the loading process begins.

Once the semi-trailer has been parked, the truck leaves the terminal immediately without having to wait for the train. The truck can immediately take on new transport orders or pick up a semi-trailer that has already arrived at the terminal. This leads to effective utilization of the tractor units, shortens transport routes and reduces CO₂ emissions.

All semi-trailers are handled simultaneously and automatically at the touch of a button as soon as the train arrives. The technology enables 36 semi-trailers to be unloaded and reloaded in just 20 minutes. By comparison, a conventional crane terminal takes around three to four hours to handle the same train. After a brief safety check, the train departs again, completely reloaded. The system enables uncomplicated, environmentally friendly long-distance transportation by rail - quickly, efficiently and completely climate-neutral.
