The magnetic conveyor is used for transporting short, broken chips out of machine tools and similar plants, in particular when wear-resistant materials are used and if ferromagnetic substances have to be transported. Use as a combined conveying and filter system is also sensible, for example to achieve coolant/dirt separation at an early stage. Optionally, there is provision for integrating a high-performance neodymium magnet.
Mode of function
Chips and coolant are loaded onto the magnetic conveyor from the processing machine. Magnetic strips connected to a hollow pin chain move under a transport surface. Ferromagnetic chips or sludge are continuously transported to the discharge point on the transport surface. The cooling lubricant is stored in the tank, pumped by a lifting pump through a bag filter to the pressure boosting pump and made available to the processing machine. The cooling lubricant used runs through openings with screen inserts into the chip rails back to the coolant tank.
The drive is from a three-phase geared motor with overload protection and a power of 0.09 - 3 kW. Inclination angles up to 90° are possible.
